With a host of interesting credits to his name, we had a chat with Andrea about his current roles, what he has coming out and what he'd like to come next, which you can read all about below!
How and when did you first get into Acting?
I first got into acting when I was about 20 years old. I attended a local drama school named "Teatro Stabile delle Marche" for 2 years. I was then fortunate enough to win a full time scholarship and attend the "Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute" in Los Angeles.
Tell us some more about your recent role in Genius:Picasso, what did it entail?
Genius:Picasso was a tremendous experience. Being catapulted into one of the most charming and fascinating places and time ever; Paris at the beginning of the last century. It was wonderful. I played Endre Rozsda, an amazing French-Hungarian painter. I really enjoyed his work and style, which of course I became very familiar with. It was an inspiring and beautiful story. He had to flee Paris because of the Nazi persecution and go back to Hungary to continue his work in secrecy because the regime at the time was intolerant to abstract surrealist art. He could not show nor sell his work, but he continued to paint in secrecy, such was his drive and need to express himself.
What are you now working on?
I recently finished an action movie called "Hard Night Falling" with Dolph Lundgren where I played a cool sniper. However, what I`m really excited for is a Bollywood movie about women's rights I was part of - "Roam Rome Main", which will be out next year as well. I play a key role in this movie opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It`s a beautiful, inspiring story directed by renowned Indian actress, Tannishta Chatterjee.
Also, Peter Greenaway's "Walking to Paris" should be coming out in 2019. I'm one of the four actors portraying the great Romanian sculptor C.Brancusi. This too was a tremendous experience; working with such a legendary director, portraying the incredible journey that Brancusi took on from Romania, walking to reach Paris, which was the centre of the world at the time for all artists. This movie will be visually stunning.
Is there anything in particular you’d like to work on next?
Oh well, there are sooo many things I`d love to work on... I love epic projects with lots of swords, horses, fighting and great monologues about love and justice and all that kinda stuff... something like Game of Thrones will do! Also, I`m a big space/aliens geek so being involved in a sci-fi/conspiracy project would be really wonderful...
